New to the 2011 season, the CocoNuts succesfully applied to the local Adopt-an-Avenue and Adopt-a-Trail programs. They currently clean up a section on Beaver Street in down-town Flagstaff and a section of the Urban Trail system near Coconino High School. They also participate in various trash clean-up events around town. The CocoNuts have also started volunteering at lesat once a month at the St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance in Flagstaff.
At the High Altitude Robotics Extravaganza, the CocoNuts partnered with the Flagstaff Elks Club to coordinate a canned food drive competition involving participating teams. The food collected during this drive was then used for the Elks Club's Christmas food boxes that were distributed to the needy families of Flagstaff.
At the 2010 High Altitude Robotics Extravaganza, the team partnered with the Sinagua Middle School Special Olympics Team to sell concessions at the event to fund travel expenses for their next competition.
